- Pink salmon fillets or sheets
- Soy sauce
- Sushi rice
- Little vinegar, salt and sugar
Instructions:
Prepare the Sushi Rice:
- Cook the Sushi rice according to the instructions given in the packet
- In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice using a wooden spatula. Let the rice cool to room temperature
Prepare Your Fillings:
- Fry the fish slightly with a dash of soy sauce
Assemble the Sushi Rolls:
- Lay a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on the mat
- Place a handful of sushi rice. Spread the rice evenly
- Place the fish on rice
- Roll the sushi away from you, tucking the filling in as you go. Apply gentle pressure to form a tight roll. Wet the uncovered edge of the nori to seal the roll
- With a sharp knife, slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces
- Sprinkle soy sauce
- Serve with soy sauce for dipping. Drop a few chopped green chillies for a bit of heat and flavour
- Serve green tea at the end of the meal
